xSeries
Next-generation seismic monitoring hardware
We are excited to announce the upcoming release of our next generation seismic monitoring hardware, available by the end of 2024.
IMS xSeries hardware is backwards compatible with netSeries hardware and the IMS system.
xADC
10 channel low noise seismological digitiser (ADC) with digital sensor interfaces
xSP
Powerful Seismological Processing Unit with high-speed communication interfaces and AI-enabled processing
xPMU
High-power Power Management Unit with mains and battery control and monitoring
New Features
Discover what’s new in our latest technology
The most noticeable change is the form factor we have changed from a plastic DIN-rail mounted enclosure to a powder-coated metal enclosure. This change in material enables us to employ best-practice electrical design techniques to reduce electromagnetic noise (EMI) and ensure the best possible signal integrity and quality of seismic data. Metal enclosures also have superior thermal properties allowing us to use higher power processors.
- Replaces netADC
- 10 x analogue channels (vs netADC’s 8 channels)
- Better performance (lower noise) at lower frequencies compared with netADC, allowing for better resolution of low frequencies radiated from large seismic events
- 3 x high-range channels for increased sensor clipping and direct connection of high gain active sensors
- 4 x digital sensor interfaces compatible with IMS XGM and other digital sensors
- Internal clock with the ability to be disciplined to GPS or PTP-based time synchronisation sources
- Optional integrated GPS module
- Replaces netSP+
- Powerful CPU:
- 64-bit quad-core ARM CPU 1.8 GHz (vs 32-bit single-core x86 CPU 0.8 GHz on netSP+)
- Memory:
- 2 GB DDR4 RAM (vs 256 MB DDR2 RAM on netSP+)Â
- Connectivity:
- 4x Gigabit Ethernet ports (vs 4x 100 Mbps on netSP+)Â
- 2x SFP ports, supporting Ethernet over fibre
- 4x USB 2.0 ports (vs 1x USB 2.0 port on netSP+)
- Integrated IEEE 1588v2 (PTP) timing engine with dedicated time synchronisation outputs
- General-purpose Inputs and Outputs allow for the monitoring and control of external indicators and alarms
- Replaces UPS+ / PDU / PDUx
- DC input allows for an independent external power system and battery backup
- Integrated mains power monitoring and control via external relays (compatible with PDUx) allowing for battery health tests
- 6x high-power output ports (vs 4x output ports on UPS+ / PDU / PDUx):
- High output power (50 W per port vs 15 W per port on UPS+ / PDU / PDUx)
- High total power (300 W vs 30 W on UPS+ / PDU / PDUx)
- Intelligent detection of IMS xSeries hardware on output ports
